looking for a simple way to program my computer to shut down because my kids play to many on line games and never seem to want to shut it down

I think that you need to spend more time with your kids. Yes, limit TV & Computer time.

Unfortuantely, just how do you distinguish production school work and learning, from using the computer to yak with their friends, or playing games? Here is my thought... One computer should be dedicated for JUST homework and such. Another computer could be the GAME and Internet Yak machine. Separate the computers, instead of the children.

Well how about using a 3 prong timer to limit the hours that electricity is available to your UPS. Then as soon as the UPS batteries are low, the system should do a shutdown, if that is how you configure your power management options.

Right clk a blank spot on the Desktop and clk Properties.
Then clk on the Screensaver tab.
On that window that comes up is a button named Power. (near the bottom right)
Clk on Power and you can change settings there. Just read the options.
Don't forget to clk Apply / OK

right click the desktop and hit properties

go to screen saver then where it says power click on that

select turn off hard disc after however much time you want
