you should say what email account you are talking about for a specific answer, but in general, you Delete the mail, then Empty the Trash Folder.

set up you spam mail filter on what ever email program you use and set so only email's that you know go through and all the rest get sent to either the trash or to a folder

You can go to the trash folder and then delete it like regular email...

you check the "sender" box and then press delete
