If you mean country, Italy because the just won the world cup.
If you mean club, Barcelona because they are the European champions as well as League champions in Spain. However, Arsenal will be the next European champions and will win the EPL, making them the next best club in the world.

Right now the best club team I'd say is Barcelona. They have a great strikeforce with Ronaldinho, E'Too, Messi, and in midfield Xaxi, Deco, and Iniesta. In defence they really beefed up with Zambrotta and Thuram, adding them to Puyol and Marquez.
The best National team, I think for the moment is England.

The best club team has got to be Man Utd, but i think the best international team is Argentina in my view, i suppose it just depends who you support.
