Go with the flow but rather than not trying to talk to anybody sit back and give it time, your the new kid on the block and after what I saw done to new kids try not to be to eager to fit in.You don,t know what there conversation is about and there is no sense getting involved. If you sit back it'll come.
It's more important to make a few good friends than it is being popular. That's a lot a work that can flop at a heart beat.
If you want a really good friend look for some one who is an Aquarius and if you get into an argument with them just ignore it they'll come back and apologize then tell them it's alright I knew you feel bad because your an Aquarius.
Aquarius people are a real friend when you need one and they are there for you with no strings attached at least most of them.

I say make friends in your class first. Then once you secure ppl from your class, you will have someone to sit with at lunch and if they know more ppl they can also become your friends. Its very rare you'll meet someone new like you, because new students all have different first days. And to not meet anyone at all, will give everyone the impression you are stuck up or a snob. Also don't ever just sit at anyone's table in the cafeteria. Cliques are everywhere, and you could get some kids being mean to you on the first day because you just walked up and disturbed their clique or sitting space. Work on the kids in your class and from there you should have friends. Even joing clubs helps.

Really I would try to talk to people in class so then when it comes to lunch you may have someone to sit with already if you made friends in class.
Good luck!:)

TRY TO BE POLITE AND JUST BE FAMILIAR WITH SOME PERSONS DO NOT GIVE MORE ATTENTION TO ANY ONE JUST TRY TO GET ADJUST IN WITH OTHERS BY PUTTING YOU VIEWS AND MIXING THEM IN THEIR CONVERSATION TRY TO FIND A GIRL MORE SIMILAR IN NATURE LIKE YOU AND THEN IT'S EASY TO FANCY EVERYTHING.
