Do you like waves or sounds or harmonic functions? i is hidden in them.
Do you like your air-conditioner, cruise control on your car, or an airplane autopilot? "i" is hidden in there.
Do you like your computer? i is hidden in there too.
i is one of the most useful most powerful ideas in math and therefore science. Its hidden all over the place, and its utility in science and engineering is extensive.
All real world phenomena are real valued functions, but that doesnt mean that complex numbers are part of the state and internal transformations of that phenomena.
