This REALLY happened: a guy was scared that someone might try to kill him while he slept so he kept a gun by the side of his bed. The phone rang, and he picked it up and pulled the trigger. He went out with a bang. I wonder if it was a wrong number. If that doesn't qualify as stupid, I don't know what does.
