I agree with you, it was very sad. I think he knew that could happen, but like us all, we think we're invincible. Unfortunately we have lost a great conservationist and he will be truly missed. My thought and prayers are with his family.

He had some degree this was coming. He was more worried about filming his movie, ''Ocean's Deadliest''. I mean, the title kinda gives it away that he had somewhat of a worry as to 'what is going to happen when i am shooting this film underwater'. I feel really bad for his wife, and two kids, man. He was only 44. His daughter who is 9 yrs., was and is going to follow his footsteps, but now that he is gone, she only has her mom to idolize after. Now the movie is going to cancel due to this event, and who knows whats going to happen to all the TV shows he has been on, they'll probably just cancel them. I dont know, but whatever happens, may Steve Irwin always rest in peace.

Come on! Get real.....when you do dangerous things, you know the consequences. While grief is appropriate, we can't sanctify a man for being both foolish and thrill-seeking. The grief you feel is based on him doing dangerous things that you or many others are afraid to do, but as a scientist, I know that he was acting incautiously to glorify himself and not the animals and nature that he was supposed to be doing. Marlin Perkins was a very respected man, knowledgeable and devoted to preserving wildlife but he acted with dignity and respect. Irwin used crass showmanship and did nothing for conservation.

I'm sure he knew he was taking a risk. Regardless, it's very sad.

I'm sure he did know it was a possibility. But still....so very sad that he's dead! May he rest in peace. That guy rocked.

YES, HE DID HAVE A DANGEROUS JOB BUT THE GATOR WASN'T WHAT GOT HIM IN THE END. I DON'T KNOW IF WE HAVE ANY IDEA WHEN OUT TIME IS NEARING AND END UNLESS WE'VE BEEN ILL.
