Usually there is a bolt in the middle of the mount that can be loosened and raise the whole unit up. there should be a mark that is the max height indicator. some years back there used to be taller mounts.

You cannot raise the handle bar stem very far however bike shops can sell you longer stems. First lossen the center vertical bolt about 1/2 inch then tap down on the bolt light hit with hammer you can protect the bolt with piece of plywood that loosens it from the fork. Now leg on each side of the front wheel wiggle and pull up most of the time the stem will just pull out. There should be a Max up line mark don't lift any higher and tighten a little to hold align the handle bars to front wheel and tighten to about 15 foot pounds or very snug.

I think you are too hard on Catholics. I am an ex-Roman Catholic, now a Pentecostal bible believing Christian. I grew up in the Church, and its all I knew as a child. I functioned as a teacher in a variety of Sunday School classes and also was present in Converts class. Most people are christened as babies, when they do not understand, and thus are blinded innocently, by thinking and believing that it is the only religion that represents God. People think the pope is infallible etc, and trust and believe everything taught to them, Catholicism is a way of life, and is so deep in ritual, that only God could help Catholics so blinded by the religion, that they cannot see the real, true and Living God.
