"You have quoted this passage out of syntax." meaning, without the proper setting of the original sentence, the meaning is different. Trust me, syntax is everything when it comes to information...like movie reviews over movie ads...the quotes are "out of syntax." and the meaning of the phrase is completely different than the original review because dropping what came before the phrase...Such as, ORIGINAL: " This is NOT one of the best movies I have seen" then, when quoted out of syntax, becomes" ......one of the best movies I have seen." Very different, isn't it?
