*AP Chemistry: Hydrate Lab* If the accepted value was 5 and the percentage error was found, how do you show what would happen to the accepted value if you did not drive off all the water in the crystal?

If the accepted value was the expected value, it would not change. If all of the water of hydration was not driven out of the crystals, the change in the mass would be less (initial mass of crystals minus the mass of the "dry" material) leading to a larger percent error.
