If you're a collge student, every campus library has an online library catalog where you can search for available books, or even ebooks in your case. If you don't attend college, ask around, I'm sure someone in your area will be willing to help. If not, rent a documentary about history and it's timeline. History is very interesting, good luck. =)

If i were you I would go to a universitys library database and they will allow you to check out ebooks online for a few hours.
