I already have an avatar, but I don'y know how to put it in instead of the weird smiley face.

In the top left hand cornor, where it says "HELLO..." tells you your points and level, click on the weird smiley face. A new page should open up saying "MY Q&A" in bold and large font. Look for where it says "ABOUT". On the right side of "about" in blue font, it should say "ADD DETAILS". Click on it and where it says PICTURE, check "USE MY YAHOO AVATAR". If your Yahoo Avatar isn't showing up, click on EDIT MY YAHOO AVATAR under the picture box. It should take you to the page where you create your Yahoo Avatar. There edit it and save it. Repeat the steps above then.

Click on My Q & A. Click on add details. Select use my Yahoo Avatar for picture instead of No Picture.

My guess could be that the grey smiley is likely considered one of the default pictures used while the server and/or database that shops the definitely avatar photograph is unreachable for some reason. to no longer be perplexed with the grey profile of a head while somebody does no longer elect or create an avatar photograph.

Create an avatar. In your email for yahoo there is a section where you can create one.
Have fun with it- there is tons of neat stuff and styles to choose from.
You can even pretend that your in Paris!!!

did you save your avatar if so it should have come on by itself
