i have known him for, well probably ten years. he is now a very close friend. i have never gotten him anything. don't know where to begin. help.

well give some hints by asking him what sort of things he likes and what would his perfect birthday present be?
if not just give him money then he can get what he likes

I think that a man's aftershave should only be chosen by a woman so maybe that.........and seeing as how we spend more money on beauty products now than ladies how about a facial?
On second thought go with the aftershave.

does he collect anything?
or put together a collection of photos of days out, fun times together and write little captions under each one as a memory, i did this for a friend once

find out what he is into - football, rugby, video games, etc etc, but then again u have known him for 10 years so u shud knw wat he is into, then get him something related to the thing he likes, u can't go wrong, and if all else fails a tie is always nice!!!

find out what he likes and get him something to do with his faviourate sport or a gift voucher for a music store they are always good , bless you
