What is the best CD-R to get? And what does 52X And 700MB mean and what effects does it have with recording music?

From my experience, Verbatim and Maxell are generally OK. Sony is variable, depending on where the discs were made (Japan-made discs are better.) Avoid, at all costs, and even if they are stunningly cheap, Imation. There is also a manufacturer called CMC which makes a variety of discs in Asia for export; stay clear.

700MB means the disc is about 80 Minutes, At 1-X speed it would take 80 minutes to burn the CD. At 2X it would take 40 minutes. At 40X it would take 2 minutes.
