I always thought he was a little overactive, but still, when I heard he died, I kinda couldn't believe it b/c i can't imagine him being dead, not jumpin around, jus not doing anything. I feel sorry for his wife and kids.

I also heard that he probably died instanty because the stingray's barb punctured him right in the heart. His wife didn't even get to say goodbye. That totally sucks

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

I'm gonna miss him I loved watching his shows.
volleybabe what a cruel thing to say. Now if you walk outside and accidentally step on a snake and it bites you. Lets say you don't get to the hospital on time..and the venom kills you I'm gonna say "Go Snakes!" No because you probably got family that loves you and doesn't want you dead.
Steve Irwin had two children. And 2 year old and a 8 year old. Now that will grow up without a dad.
He won't be there when they graduate from high school or walk his little girl down the isle when she gets married.
I feel so bad for his family. And it was so sudden. I wish them all the best.
Yeah I can't imagine him being dead either. Am I weird? But I cried hard when I read the news and saw the photo' from his Zoo. And it show people laying flowers and the people going by honking their horns.
And when they said that his voice was still on the answering machine to the zoo. I really cried over that.
My mom's voice stayed on my answering machine for a long time, I never had the heart to change. So when I heard about that I thought about my mom.
He didn't deserve to die. There are so many evil asses on the planet that need to get taken off but the evil ones live forever and the kind and loving people die .
Crikey Steveo I'm,gonna miss you.
Feels like I've lost a buddy.

This is a truely sad event. I loved watching his show. It is sad to hear just how he died. Of all the animals you thought would have killed him it turns out to be of all things, a stingray... I go diving with stingrays all the time. I have a tattoo of one on my ankle. one of my fondest memories is holding one in the Cayman islands. How sad that he leaves behind two young kids. I was sure it was going to be a shark or croc that got him.. I still cant believe it.
"Wow! she is really pissed now, look when I grab her tail she is arching like that. That is a true sign of aggitation and aggresion.Hold on Im going to do it again..."
What a nut. The world will truely miss him. Such a freak accident.

I was shocked when i heard the news this morning . He was a good entertainer although a few think he was a madman. At this time tho our sympathy should be to his wife and kids who have lost a great father and devoted husband rest in peace MATE!

Well, I felt bad about it, but he's always been on the edge of things. Let's face it, wild animals, are wild animals. A sting ray doesn't have compassion, a stingray just wants to be alone and he accidentall got in its way.

I was very upset. I actually cried, just a wee bit.
My family was huge fans of his.
For the conservationists, he will be a major loss, because his heart was in his job. That is why he was such a major success.
I know that he was full of drama & crisma, but he was a very educated & positive person.
He will be missed.

Sad. Though I don't know him personally(or other celebrities, that have died)it does effect me. Even Lucille Ball's death, got to me. Because I really liked her comedy/acting. And I wonder, what she'd be doing now. Y.

His career was always full of risks. Can't blame the wildlife. It's just something that can happen when man and animal get a little too close together and the wrong moment in time.

i just can't believe he's gone. both my husband and i have watched all of his shows and we're both in shock. it's like losing a family member. my prayers go out to terri and bindi and bob.
i sometimes wonder if when he was doing the jobs like the one that killed him if he ever thought maybe i should let somebody else do this part of the job so that i can see my kids grow.
