Unemployment rate in USA is all times high, what administration is telling us is not true. What the government record shows is the rate of unemployed of people who is drawing unemployment. There are lots of ppl out their not qualified for unemployment or is not any more. Bottom line is there are lot more people unemployed than our administration telling us.

Almost every thing you buy in stores is made in china because the labor in china is cheaper than USA. Imagine how many jobs we could create by buying stuff made in USA.

Many companies are sending jobs to India, we could have had all those jobs. Again because labor in India is cheaper.

Big question is why labor in USA so expensive. Well first get rid of that expensive Union, reduce your coffee time, work hard, produce more than you are getting paid. The final product or service value goes down. Its a chain reaction to bring the prices down and to bring inflation ratio down.

Well i can keep writing but I'm going to stop hear I think you got my point.

They are trying to put a Super Walmart in my town right now and the wages that they pay are higher than 80% of the jobs in my town. Why wouldn't we want it to come in. That would be a HIGH wage job here in western Nebraska. The average job at Walmart pays $10.10 and hour and that's more than what I make at the job I been doing for 20 years. The manufacturing company that I work for now buys more than half of it's inventory from China. We have 1 shipping department just for the BUY/RESALE.

When the USA goverment starts focuseing on USA people that will be a day to remember. Why Iraq gets rebuild and New Orleans doesnt. Why Afganistan General gets monies and Florida Homeowner that lost house 4 hurricanes ago gets nothing. Why England gets monies and woman in Texas cannot get a job.
Stories are the same all over USA, when USA can take care of USA then USA can honestly help another country. if asked to.

Walmart traditionally pays just a tad higher than minimum wage. There are a real shortage for food service workers, but noboady wants those as they pay less than Walmart. You should be thankful that a major retailer, even a crappy one like Walmart has opened and created 290 jobs. Look around; with companies like GM and Ford laying off like crazy, we need to embrace a company that creates jobs.

speak out on what? the fact that the economy isn't as great as dubya is trying to paint it?

of course "we need work." even college graduates have a hard time finding work. it's a competetive market out there.

of course, it also depends on where the Wal-Mart was built. was it in New Orleans (because we ALL know that this area will definitely be a place that has plenty of people that NEED jobs). otherwise, what else is new. so what are you going to do about it?

Talk to your local Chamber. see what's happening with the people that "okay" new business in your area. maybe this'll give you a better idea of who to vote for the next time you go to the poles. and if you DON'T vote (because your vote isn;t gonna count anyway-at least, that's what you tell yourself), then START voting!!!!

Let me get this straight, a new Wal-Mart opened in your town creating 290 jobs and you're complaining that the jobs don't pay enough. What it tells me is that you can NEVER make a whiny lib happy! pathetic

I agree, and that means we don't need illegal immigrants competing with us for these jobs.

And for all you people making fun of such work, that Americans will do by the way, should we sit on our butts drawing welfare and foodstamps instead? Who can afford to go to college when they have bills to pay? College isn't free (unless you are an illegal immigrant in some places), and not everybody's mommy and daddy can or will put their kids through college while taking care of all their other expenses. It's easy to judge when you've never been in that position.

Look at Jim Jam reply. You know it. I know it. People are screaming for decent jobs. Yet, you have hundreds of hate filled pricks like Jim Jam making wise cracks about people's misery. Maybe it is time we address the Jim Jam's of the world first. FYI: Skill has nothing to do with it. The jobs are GONE.
