Many people here in the USA seem to have a problem making new friends....usually those of the opposite sex. I have noticed that many of the questions here comfirm this. Same old story....'I'm too shy'
My question is: "Is this just a problem with Americans or do you have the same problem in your country?" (if you don't mind, would you please tell me what country you're from?)

it takes nerve and practice to overcome your shyness, but as a general condition, i think you're right. people here are quite selfish and solitary, mostly due to the universal individual problems and frustrations. everyone has his, so no one bothers each other.
i guess it really is a problem. nice question.

im from Australia. people here have trouble making friends of the opposite sex too, its not just yanks - as hard is it might be for americans to realise that they ARE NOT the only ones who exist in the world

I'm a Canadian, and I've seen the phenomenon of more and more people meeting "online" and through other means than personal contact. From that, I guess I would say it's not just in the States.

I'm from down under and the blokes here are mostly up front when it comes to dating but the girls are subtle or put it in another way, if a girl is interested in a guy she will 'tricked' the guy into asking her out on a date.

I have a lot of friends that are girls and guys...i don't have a problem like that!I am from Cyprus..it's an island near Greece!
