The eternal question Sparky!
The Stones certainly have longevity on their side and a plethora of hits but the Beatles impact on all facets of music from the 1960's until today is profound. Indeed the Stones followed the Beatles in many ways: use of the sitar on Paint it Black, 'Their Satanic' psychedelic album and even clothing.
I'd say the Beatles by some margin although the Stones need to be given credit for their own influence on generations of rockers to follow.

The Stones; they've been able to put egotistical differences aside and have all the while been making good music. Sure, the quality of the stuff has tapered since the early 80s, but the better moments from 80-05 are still as classy as anything the beetles made during their short stint. Add to that the Stones' classic 64-78 output, and Lennon & pals are left biting the dust.

The Beatles were MUCH BETTER.
The Stones were "invented" as the bad boy alternative, and have made a career based on that.
The Kinks were more talented than the Stones.

That's a tough question. Both have had a lot of hits and records. And their songs are still hits today. If I had to pick, it would be the Rolling Stones being I like more of their songs.
