Did anyone really expect Steve Irwin to live this long? He was very foolish with his life and his child's life and he tormented the animals. I think it was just a matter of time. However, he made it longer then I would have guessed. What do you think?

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Steve Irwin DID NOT torment the animals, and he was not at all reckless with his nor his childs life...please show a little respect for the deceased and keep your crummy opinions to yourself, It's a very sad day and Steve Irwin should be viewed in a different light...

I think you are very foolish. His ability with animals came from years of experience. He certainly has done some foolish things, his child in the croc cage, but was an experienced zoologist. What happened with the sting ray was a freak, it he had been hit any where else on his body then he would not be dead now.

I think that some people would think he was foolish while others would think that he was a good guy. yeah he was extreme but sometimes in this society that we live in it takes that extreme to get our attention. He did a lot for Austrailia and even though he did some things that we may not have ever done and that might have been considered not right I dont think we should sit here and try to judge him as a man. I think he did a lot for his country and he was a decent fellow and what we look at and see as odd might not have been all that odd to him. I do however think that he did do something to the stingray that caused it to sting him because they do not normally attack unless something is done to them.

Where are you from? I am an Aussie and I guess you only saw what you wanted to see. The world will never be the same again. He loved his family and would never do anything to hurt them. I was there the day he fed the croc while holding his son and it was nothing like what the media made it out to be. Leave the man alone. He did more for this world than any politician or small minded loser.

Steve was a Great Man - he was committed to the conservation of animals and to his family. His legacy can never be damaged by comments like this. He was kind and passionate and he lived life to the full - he did not have the time to sit around at a computer thinking up hurtful rubbish like this.

He has done things far more dangerous that what actually killed him. It's kind of ironic that it happened that way. He was still a very nice guy and very dedicated to what he was doing. IRwin always taught me something new everytime I watched his show, and he never ceased to have that adventurous grin on his face, no matter what he did. He truly loved his family and his job, and the animals he dealt with. I'll certainly miss him.

Steve Irwin getting killed by a Sting-ray would be like one of Siegfried and Roy getting killed by a house cat.
