When you were younger did you have hopes and dreams that you expected to have fulfilled by now?
What were those goals and have you achieved them?

Sure...but, life is funny ... it happens so different then you expect sometimes and that is for the good often time.

When I was younger, I was ambitious in a career mindset. I was a science major in university...working my way to be a pharmacist.

Then, my prince wisked me away and the ball rolled a different way for me. I believe that I became wiser along the way and realized what's most important at the end of the day. That is, my family.

I'll be 29 in a couple of months (close enough to 30). I have my degree, I've worked in the biotec industry long enough to understand my goal in life is to have a happy healthy family when it's all done! So, far I am achieving that.

I guess you don't have to have a set list of goals, just roll with life a little and follow your heart and you'll be happy. ;-) IMHO

I'm almost 30 but I can still relate to this question. I definitely thought I was going to be either a vet or an interior designer or a cop. Although I did achieve becoming a reporter for a few years, it didn't last when it came time to buy my own house. I had to give up what I loved in order to move out of my parents house at 26. I have a good job but it's not what I thought I would do or want to do. I do think though that in your 30s you are still young enough to achieve the dreams you might have missed out on. Once I get my masters next year, I plan to reconsider a lot of things about my future.

I had some unrealistic ambitions when I was a teenager that remained predictably unfulfilled, but none that I regret missing out on (they involved fame, wealth, prestige, probably lots of women throwing themselves at me, that kind of thing).

In the end the ambitions I had got pretty well achieved, and some I didn't expect (or even want, at the time) to happen, and yet they turn out to be the best of all. I got absurdly well educated, took a great job teaching in a university, married, beautiful family (that's the bit I never expected I'd like - kids are the best!), comfortably off, decent if modest home, good friends (too many of whom are overseas!) and I've still got good eyesight!

I don't miss the fame, ludicrous wealth, prestige, or even, really, the gorgeous women flinging themselves at me. Being married has lots of advantages!

Well, Yes and No. I'm 38. I've been married over 18 years. I have 3 great (if often obnoxious) kids. I have a small farm in the country. Those are all things I wanted.

Don't have as much $$ in retirement as we would like but thems the breaks. Things haven't always been smooth but we have gotten by.

We are not very materialistic so its not like we wanted big cars, big houses, big vacations. Those things were never on the agenda.

Now, if I can only successfully get my oldest off to college next year I will be extremely satisfied!

Goddess Bless!

i had hoped to be a business owner, have a family, and a college graduate.
i have the family, but had setbacks on college and business.
I am now back in school at 39, will finish and then try for the business.
it is never too late if you have the will and the drive to succeed. You can always find the way.

lol. good question. I did, but then I realized those hopes and dreams were just pipe dreams; once I settled into life, though, I was able to come up with more realistic goals and I have been able to realize most of them.

I am 31 and came from a screwy family. I had hoped to finish college, be married, be a successful writer and have six children. Well, I have only finished college.
