You're certainly allowed, but I don't think your odds are all that good. The USPS is almost entirely unionized. If you're a union member and got fired, you must have *really* earned it, since it's almost impossible to fire anyone from the union. If you aren't a union member, you're probably some kind of temp, and temps don't have many employment rights.

Still, you are able to file suit. That doesn't mean you'll win, but it is your legal right. Contact a local attorney that specializes in employment law and ask for a consultation. Most will give you a cursory legal opinion for free, but after that... this could cost you quite a bit. If you go on a contingency basis, you won't have to pay anything up front, but the lawyer will get up to 40% of anything that you win.

You don't say why you think you were terminated, or why they told you, you were terminated.
Were you a casual employee, a PTF, or a career employee? This matters because only the career and PTF after their probationary periods have any rights. They may terminate casuals and PTF within 90 days of hire for ANY or NO reason at all.
If you were fired because you perceived it was because of your race, age, sexual orientation, religion, or handicapped, then you can sue. Whether you win or not is another question. Talk to the union folks, maybe they can help you.

Tell us why you lost your job, what specific reasons were given, whether there was any truth to it at all, what your side of the story is, a little of the history of what led up to the job loss, and then maybe someone here can give a better answer.

You can sue anyone for any reason.

Whether you win is an entirely different matter.

Seek legal counsel to figure out if you have a case.
