there is not "something wrong with you" as some prople have cruelly said. that could be because you are trying to focus too hard. i am sure their faces and voices aren't the same in your memory as when they were alive, but i bet u can still see them. i lost my husband 4 years ago. he was quite young and although my memory is fuzzy....i can often picture him as plain as day.

Whenever I listen to a song, I seem to remember where I am, who I'm with, and what's going on.
If I hear that song, even years later I instantly remember the people and place etc. otherwise I struggle to remember peoples faces as little as a month after seeing them!
I dont mean any song, and not just once... just if I listened to a song quite often in similar situation.... if that makes sense.

Well, I dont think that has happened. My Aunty was my best friend, she passed in 1999. I was only 17.5 years old. Sometimes you just have to be somewhere quiet and think of them...I can always picture her laugh. It fades, and I wish I had a video of her contagious giggle somewhere. Her face will never fade. At the end of 2000 my daughter was born and she was named Hayley Lynette after her. I talk about her all the time, and we have photographs of her in the living room.

Well i think that can be answer in the fact that Time heals all wounds, as time passe's by the pain of losing a loved one start's to lessen due to fact that the brain starts healing itself, i think it's pretty much like children that get molested they either develop split personalities or cannot remember what happen , it's buried in their sub-conscious, that is how the brain deals with pain, it heals itself by trying to suppress what hurts.!!!

If you really loved someone and they die. You remember everything about them, their smell, their voice, the song they loved, the program they loved.
At one of my friends funeral I looked into the sky and saw two planes crossing, it made a kiss. Now when I see a kiss in the sky I think only of my dear friend Gladi's.

You don't ever 'forget' in the way you might think. The information doesn't 'leak' out of your brain.
What tends to happen is that you have a RECALL problem not a STORAGE one. Keep accessing the information (or topping it up by refering to pictures) and you will be fine.

I have had a lot of "close" friends pass-away...but I remember their faces well. The difference?...I knew enough to get photographs of those that are (or were) close to me...you never know who is next...maybe you...so pass out photos of yourself

Sometimes you just want to remember people how they were - others just find it easier to forget.
Maybe thats why you cant remember as a mind works in strange ways.

Times a great healer that blurrs a lot of things. Fond feelings stay with you. It's the spirit of a person that you never lose even though their shell has gone babe.
