I would just because it at least gives the family closure on to what happened to their cat. I had a dog dissapear and we still don't know what happened. I wish if he had been run over that someone would have told us just so that we would know that he dodn't run away. Make any sense???

I would. It's just the right thing to do. Besides, if something happened to your pet, wouldn't you want to know? And I (I'm sorry to say) practice what I preach. A cat ran in front of my car on a country highway at night and I did stop, checked on the cat but it was already dead, moved it from the road, and went to the house and let them know.

Well the milk man ran over my cat :-(.. He didnt tell me, he did however put her at the side of the road which was nice because she was pretty messed up already.

If I knocked down a neighbours cat I would proberly just put the cat at the side of the road (like the milk man)

If it was my cat I would like for you to come and tell me. That way I won't worry that he got eaten by a coyote. And I would know it was my fault for letting be outside and not blame the person that ran over him. Just my 2 cents worth.

Yeah I'd own up. I once stopped my car when I saw the lorry in front of me hit a cat - I put it on the grass verge and it had a fit and then died. The owner came out of her house and thought I'd killed it - she was upset but not mad though, accidents happen. I didn't set her straight - dunno why, maybe I thought at the time that meeting her cat's murderer would help her with the grieving process!!

OMG! Yes!!!! If you go over and sincerely apologize at least they will know what happened and won't spend countless days and hours searching for her. Accidents happen, but it is very cruel to ignore the situation!

Cats are a dime a dozen. Dispose of the carcass, and plead ignorance.

How cheap are cats? I'm always seeing people give them away for free. Pet stores can sell snakes. You can't give cats away.
