"Gay" church is the same as any other church. The only difference is there is no belief that homosexuality is a sin and, of course, the largest majority sitting in the mass are gays and lesbians.

Actually, there IS a "gay church".
The Cathedral of Hope, located in Dallas, TX, is often cited as being the largest Gay and Lesbian church in the world but also ministers to others of different sexual orientation.
It has a large ministry including a dynamic outreach program among other services and ministries. Several years ago the community outreach programs' budget was a little over one million dollars. Its local congregation appears to be rather sizable with the church holding several services each Sunday in a spacious sanctuary.
In addition to its local ministry, the church has an extensive National Membership offering the National members live services online.
Check it out! Just follow the link below.
Best Wishes!

There are many actually
I think what you are referring to is Metropolitan Community Church -- which is a denomination.
However, several other Christian churches full and totally accept and incorporate homosexuals into worship life.
The United Church of Christ is the one that springs to mind, because I have close straight friends in that church.
The Church of the Brethern as well.
The Unitarians.
Others as well -- and that doesn't count churches like mine -- where acceptance is over 90% but is not Universal : I'm Episcopal Church, USA. ELCA is similar, as is United Methodist. Most Congregational Churches, Many United Presbyterian. Etc.
And I haven't gone into non-Christian faiths, such as Reform Judaism. Nor have I gone into the organizations within less accepting churches that continue to struggle for inclusion.
The links below should help you. (avoid the link in my signature block unless you are willing to have your faith challenged directly and go to the links under sources.)
I'm sorry that you aren't going to find there what you have been told. I suspect that you are from an evangelical church and have been lied to -- if that is the case I hope you have the courage of your convictions to continue to look, until you find.
Have a great day.
Kind thoughts,
Reynolds Jones

There is no "gay church" as in a church that only accepts gay members. The term used by churches that do not discriminate based on orientation is "Welcoming Congregation". Unitarian Univeralism (my church, btw) has been Welcoming for about 20 years. Since then, this group has been joined by the United Church of Christ, Presbeterian, Episcopal, and several other major denominations. Most of the Protestant-Establishment denominations are now Welcoming, as opposed to he Protestant-Evangelicals, most of which continue to be run by rabid bigots and homophobes. No offense.

There are several very accepting Denominations. The Metropolitan Community Church as well as the Unitarian Universalists both have a large gay following.

When someone says there are "gay churches" this doesn't mean to imply that we have our own religion. Generally speaking, a "gay church" is usually non-demoninational and advertises itself as opening its doors to ALL people -- gay, straight, whatever. The church will usually preach tolerance and love rather than the usual hell and brimstone rants. I listen to Air America, and they broadcast a service from such a church in Dallas every Sunday. It's pretty awesome.

“GOD LOVES YOU AND ACCEPTS YOU, JUST AS YOU ARE”
The church is based on the desire to follow the transformational example of Metropolitan Community Churches which had begun in USA when Rev Troy Perry held the first MCC service in his living room in Los Angeles on the 6th October 1968.
Metropolitan Churches accept Jesus as our role model, and we preach Jesus' Gospel of love and acceptance.
Modern Biblical scholarship throws new light on the traditional “Texts of Terror” which have been used to condemn homosexuals and homosexuality.
Professor Virginia Mollenkott tells us to “Accept our sexuality as a gift from God, and then live it responsibly”. As our sexuality is from God, what right has anyone to make it a burden to us? Jesus didn’t! Don’t let anyone separate us from the love of God.
GLBTIQ people have been excluded and persecuted by parts of the Christian Church. The Gospels record that Jesus mixed with, accepted, and promoted the cause of those that the society of his time rejected and despised. Jesus lost favour with the religious leaders of his day because of his social justice and anti-discrimination stance. Jesus accepted all people.

What do you mean "what they practice?" Most gay people are Christian, just as you say you are. They practice the same things most other churches practice. They sing, praise, read the bible, and worship the Lord and Jesus Christ.
Not much of a difference.

Most larger cities have Metropolitan Community Churches...Christian churches that are non-denominational. They do not preach that being gay is a sin.
