Would it really matter?
If I was confined physically into an energy generating system run by "machines" then the choice would be not physical but psychological. You can try to programme minds but the mind will only react to suggestion.
If you were convinced that the blue pill let you become aware of the matrix, then you want to become aware and are already conscious of the fact that there is a rumour (something never explained correctly in the original film - where di this rumour come from?), and would it really matter which pill you took as mentally you have already accepted its existence and are open to this suggestion.

If you are physically strapped into a machine but potentially you can fly mentally in the matrix, what is the problem? If you can do anything in the matrix forgetting the constraints of normal physics (get shot but not die, avoid bullets, etc) then you must be able as easily to disguise who you are. In this case, how could the machines then target you, follow you, without the data reference that is your physical body. In order to disguise yourself, would you have to change your appearance or does this really matter? I like gin and tonic in the morning and duck paté on toaast for tea or do I really?
I'd have taken whatever pill I was given. What is the risk?

I would have taken the red pill. I would want to escape the matrix and live in the real world, no matter how bad it may actually be. The whole "ignorance is bliss" thing doesn't work for me. Regardless of whether or not I get to dodge bullets after taking the red pill, living in the real world will always take priority over living in a dream world.

well if i wanted the truth of course i would take the blue pill, but i would hesitate i would think what is the real truth would i like to know really or live as i normally do, we all can't be the one and morpheus knows this but anyone who shows promise is choosen will i really change when i know the truth or stay the same me in a new world, well i most likely take the red pill after that moment, but really any day of the week i would take the pink jellybean

the matrix is almost certainly real and we are part of it, although not a machine-made matrix, but one made by human scientists of the future (our future, their present), one of billions of simulated worlds for probability studies, historical enquiry, sociological and psychological studies, running on super-powerful computers that can run through millions of entire history of humanity simulation in seconds. this of course raises the possibility of matrices within matrices within matrices and so on...

probably being part of what is merely a facsimile of the universe really screws about with the notion of creation/god/intelligent design etc, especially if we are part of an evolutionary probability study...the 'real' universe may bare little resemblance to the one we are aware of, or maybe this is an argument FOR creation/god/intelligent design, but not one involving a benign and loving super-natural being, rather a completely indifferent statistical analysis program that eventually provides results to some scientist in a computer lab in some other reality.

so in the light of all that it would seem to be pointless to even concern yourself with the choice. both.

dude, the Matrix is real!!!!!

i chose to take the one where i could stay in this fake a.s.s world (sorry i forget what color) its hard enough as it is without having to be at war with weird machine things and live like freggin dirt, with food rations and living in like cells

both are form of freedom, both are a form of slavery

the only real thing in any of them is CHOICE

besides, no Rock music without the Matrix!!

The one where you stay in blissful ignorance. I'm all for an easy life. Life was pretty sh!tty for the people who chose to be all rebellious and heroic. Life is fake anyway, might as well enjoy it.

I'd stay in the matrix thanks. Who knows, we may even design something like it one day.
