Coming to Cali from the east is going to be pretty hard not to hit mountains. But, if you were to take I-10, you'd run into the least amount of mountains. If you end up taking I-80 and I-70, that means you're going through Rockie Mountains in Colorado, going through the mountains of Utah, and then hitting the Sierra Nevadas in California. Your best bet is to enter Cali from Vegas or lower. Really depends on where you need to get to in Cali though.

Once you arrive Miami (you can follow the border and then cross texas)
Once in Miami is sooooo easy...

Just find 95 North, and follow it.. You will end in New York.

95 passes by washington DC, Delaware, philly and NY

Plan ur trip using google earth and u will see the mountains.

My guess is that once you cross california, mountains are not gonna be the issue.

Good luck
