Does anyone agree that it is immoral to make money & sell Steve Irwin merchandise on the day of his death?

Just after the news of his death this morning i noticed over 100 new auctions popping up on eBay.

This is immoral & should not be allowed!

Your thoughtfulness is commendable, but it's a buyers market and sadly his memorabilia will now be more valuable. Bear in mind that not everyone is doing this out of greed - some people may really need the money and they know now this item will help.

We'll miss the chap.. but he died doing what he loved. Not such a bad way to go.

Steve Irwin's show was amazing I used to watch it everyday! I think people shouldn't just sell all of his merchandise right after he died its just sickening

I think that if you did sell Steve Irwin's merchandise you should really wait a couple years until he becomes a legend.

What I mean is I think if you are going to sell something why would you sell it before people really like him. Its like baseball cards, when players die the value of the card goes up.

So if you don't think it's immoral (unlike me) then wait until the value goes up.

I hope this helps people and helps the questioner.

I believe it is immoral to sell the merchandise to make a profit for yourselve but if the money being made is going to his conservation trust then i think that is ok.

Money... is money

But, seriously - I was going to throw away this "Croc Hunter" t-shirt, that I recieved on Christmas about three years back. I looked at it, standing there before the garbage can. And then I held it up before me - his crazy face smiled right back at me, with snakes and crocs all around him. I said, "No, Steve... I can't do it."
I went back upstairs to my room, and hung it up in my closet. I let out a small chuckle, and thought, "I couldn't get rid of a shirt like that with one of the most funniest, wildest, craziest people on earth on it."
That was the day before he died.
And... if anyone would like to purchase that very same t-shirt at just 6x original price please check eBay.com/crochunter/special edition

I believe is completely immoral there are other things you could do in life to make money that to quench your thirst on someones tragedy. This man was very kind to his family and audience, very passionate and enthusiastic to be taken advantage in a way were he could not be here to protest!

I don't think he really minds. I don't think his family looked into eBay first thing to see. It might be immoral, but it was to be expected.

What about the morons who buy it? Surely a better way to remember his life would be to make a donation to a wildlife charity. Rest In Peace Steve, you will be missed.

I don't see how it's moral to pounce on and anger animals for the sake of being famous and making money. It's a shame that he died, but it's not like he's the nicest being on earth.
