I would think it'd be the opposite! We don't want them to die for something that could have been avoided!
We're against the ones that sent them, who didn't think their lives should have been risked as a last resort!

I want to know why should I be happy that they sent my brother to die!
He's protecting my freedom really?? In Afghanistan maybe, but Iraq?
I don't tell him he's doing it for nothing because that won't help his psyche and I understand that, but I'm MAD!

It's a guilt trip tactic used by inbred nutcase conservatives. Only problem is nobody buys that one anymore. I suppose because now conservatives are going against the war.

Think about this guilt trip tactic that's being used. Now look at this and tell me if another group of people used the same tactic.

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

If it's good for the Nazi's, it's good for conservatives.

Common sense tells most people that if you publically speak out against the war, that emboldens the enemy, which in turn makes it a much more difficult war to fight. Look at Vietnam. Thanks to those loser liberals making so much noise about it, a lot more of our military had to die.
A big part of war is psychological, and when you have people at home fighting the psychological war for the enemy, it not only motivates the enemy, but it also demoralizes our troops.
No matter what the brainwashers want you to believe, this war has bigger purposes than oil, or revenge, etc. To put it as clearly as possible, if we don't fight now, the future of the world will be very different. Islamofascism is not just a nifty word the "Republicans" cleverly thought up. It's real. Do some research. Actually read the Quaran. At least read about what it actually says. You see things from a whole new perspective then....

By the way, just because someone was in the military doesn't make them all knowing. Anybody can have an agenda. For some reason some military people feel that they have a leg up on the rest of us when it comes to the war. That's just plain ignorance.

LIBERALISM IS A MENTAL DISORDER!!!!!

Some will stoop to any level to turn the blame away from where it really belongs, any level. I have heard all this before, about Nam. Our young people are our only hope, they do vote. We lost 58,000 in that war. It was also waged by those who did not fight or die. The politicians who send others to do the dirty work for them. Our service men are the best in the world, they are honorable heroes. No one would dare say otherwise to my face. They follow orders, they do the job, it's the job that they are proud to do. Our young people and our Church's will stand up and protest.

That is simply a tactic to try to scare and create guilt in Americans who don't support the war. I don't support that war. But I am greatful that our troops go to action when the President decides to go to war. Because next time, it may be a legitimate war, not some bogus, made up sham.

It's a pretty dumb statement if you ask me.
Protesting the war is indeed protesting the policy makers (the governement), the troops are merely carrying the orders.
I'm sure some of them disagree with the war too anyway.
It's easy to sign a document sending thousands to fight while dining on caviar and champagne later that night.

I agree with you. The conservatives like to paint anyone who doesn't support the war in a negative light, as bad as they can make us look. We're against the troops and we support terrorism are the two common claims which couldn't be further from the truth.

To get attention away from the fact that tax cuts support terrorism.
Wouldn't our troops be more effective if they were better provisioned with body armor? That costs money that was squandered on tax cuts.
Blaming those who oppose the war is a simply a diversionary tactic.
Tell your brother.

This is going to be my trademark answer and will gain me lot's of points. Republican's please answer how we can be against our troops if we support the war in Afghanistan, which deserves fighting just not Iraq. That's like bombing Japan during WWII, then going hey you know what, we should take out China too. We don't want communism to spread.

I was in the military, I'm not against the troops. I want them to be safe and return home, like I did. It's the stupid person who sent them over there who I'm against. Bush don't think about that the troops have families who need them here, not there and not come home in a box. If Bush's daughters had to go over there, the war would have been over yesterday.

The name of the game is Propaganda and it is an ancient tool used to shut up and manipulate people into shutting up. Think back to WWI and WWII when propaganda was an appropriate to use.(why cause the people that wanted to speak up for us not getting into the war where actually sleepers.) Now think to Vietnam when the military reused the tactic to keep people that where speaking against that war quiet that was the wrong time and place as of now too.
