This is a follow up to last week's question. This guy at work has been touching my fingers and putting his leg next to mine for 8 weeks. I think that he must be gay. He took a rose from the table at lunch and gave it to me. I confronted him about his behavior. He is from Cuba. He said that he is not gay. The touching has stopped. Now, he thinks that I am gay. Here is part of his e-mail to me. "I don't know that you are gay, if I will notice that I won't be so close to you. So stop imagine things because you confuse friendship with relationship. Not everyone is like you, Ok. I didn't do anything because I didn't want to hurt your feellings, but I learned that sometimes you have to be sincero. Bye" I am confused about this whole deal. Is it normal for guys in Cuba to place a leg next to another guy? Do latin men touch each other's fingers? I still want to be his friend. He shakes my hand, but he doesn't talk to me. What do you think?

I'm from Argentina, and here until recently time the young friends men greeted themselves with a kiss on the cheek, maybe more common a contact with another person that between anglo saxon persons. With this, I don't mean that your work companion is not gay, perhaps is he, but also it can have had some type of cultural confusion.

you're in simple terms like me! i'm the main appropriate comparable way. for me, i did not like it through fact i felt i became disrespecting myself and that i became being a slut (even nevertheless i became with one guy at a time). and such as you mentioned i became afraid that i could want the actual stuff each and all of the time whilst i won't be able to have it. and now that my boyfriend and that i broke up, i want it and can't have it. yet once you tell your self which you would be actual to this one guy, and making out/cuddling/dancing etc shouldn't make you uncomfortable. it could additionally be which you're worried, even though in case you have performed it in the previous your neerves can get the terrific of you. i'm uncertain if it rather is a turn off or not, through fact i've got been given over my phobia with my final boyfriend.. i in simple terms did not permit him touch me too plenty, and made particular i became on top of issues.

Look Latin guys are very very macho and unless they are gay they will not do anything like that. Since he got caught he is now trying to reverse the whole on you if I was you I wokd tell a supervisor or something before he tell someone firs...Good Luck

Yes, in different cultures men have different ways of showing affection and friendship. Just politely tell him that you prefer not to be touched at all at work and that you are not gay and that there was a misunderstanding between the both of you.

No. We don't touch each others fingers. He's a disgrace to our kind and is a queer. I'm serious man. I've never heard of a straight man (Latin or not) doing sick things like that. Stay away from him.

Just tell him that you're NOT gay and that his touching you bothers you. Ask him politely NOT to do it anymore. If he doesn't stop, tell him that you will report him to your supervisor. This should make him quit. If it doesn't make him quit, report him again and he'll get repremanded.

Please ask him not to touch you anymore, explain the misunderstanding, say you would like to start over with a clean slate, and then report him to human resources if there are any other problems.
