There are a lot of brands of synthetic oils out there. Mobile 1 is one of the most popular with my customers, but Castrol, Pennzoil, Quaker State, and Valvoline have their own synthetics. Brand name is not as important as viscosity. You don't want to use an oil that is too light or too heavy. The best thing to do is check you owner's manual or the dealer.

I give no answer to a open ended question. It is whatever you prefer to use, everyone has their favorite brand or what they like to use. Just check the owners manual and use the oil they tell you and switch it to a synthetic brand.

I would say Mobil 1 only because it is what is factory filled and if you need to ever add a quart it is the most popular brand and you should not have a problem finding it no matter where you are.

use the factory fill Mobil 1 5w30 or use Amsoil or Redline
There is also Royal Purple but I haven't used it. All other brands in my opinion are not worth your money. I personally use Mobil 1 5w30 in my Suburban, Have been since new in 1991. My Mercedes Benz C320 uses Amsoil European Formula 5w40 and my Motorcycles use Amsoil Motorcycle 10w40 and 20w50

Castrol is the best brand to use, now if you want to spend the money, you can use Amsoil. Just refer to your owners manual for the proper viscosity for your driving habits and conditions.

I use Castrol Syntec in my cars, and have had no problems with it, including in my turbocharged Pontiac. I did a teardown on it's engine last February ( fixed it to handle alot more boost) and it was very clean, plus there was almost no wear anywhere.
