When I would connect to the internet (dial-up), I used to be able to hear the connecting process through the speakers. Now I can't hear it; although I can hear everything else on the speakers.

Well since you asked, I just want to hear so that I know whether or not I'm connecting ok or if someone was on the phone with out me realizing since I can discontinue right-away.

Did you (or someone else!) change your internet configuration recently? This is something that can be disabled when you configure your internet connection for dial-up.... anyways, why would you want to hear it! I love I don't hear it anymore!!!

BTW, if you're not using Dial-up and changed to dsl or cable modem, you won't hear anything since it's always connected.... fyi, just in case!

Statistic, Go into the control panel, modems, and open that one up, go to modem properties, and adjust the volume slider to the level of 3/4 and this should solve the problem of not hearing it. Good Luck

check your dial up settings - when I installed my dial up software it asked me if I wanted to hear the dial in sound when i signed in - maybe you clicked "no"
