Yep. That's the nature of a capitalist system, where money is allowed to significantly influence (if not outright control) politics.

The most imperfect of systems looks perfect when placed against all other systems. Your disdane for the rich is equal to your jelousy. Would you rather stand in line for government provided goods and services and find out that what you need the most is not available? Probably. Remember in our system you are limited by your own imagination and ability. In other systems you are limited by your government. Is it better to get the job you want or do the job the government needs done? This is what you are asking for. Communism spreads the misery equally among the people. Capitalism allows you to create what ever happiness you chose. Live your own life and stop worrying about what others have. What you have or lack is all your doing.
