and also, can you mix it with hydrogen peroxide and use it? will that cause a chemical reaction?

and it isnt the main ingredient in main toothpastes. thats why im asking. sodium fluoride is. in fact, baking soda isnt even listed (unless it has another medical term that i am not aware of)

Yes and Yes. The peroxide is truly a bleach. The baking soda is abrasive and helps to remove stains when brushing through it's abrasive action. It's the BEST thing for removing tartar. As far as the chemical reaction between the two, it's harmless.

While baking soda with a mix of hydrogen peroxide seems to be the best solution, using soda alone is the safest home-remedy that you can apply yourselves.
If using baking soda alone does not give any improvement on your effort to whiten your teeth, then you may consider using Hydrogen Peroxide.

yes, i mix regular baking soda with my toothpaste (just sprinkle a little on top) and it works great for coffee or tea stains. It is a mild abrasive, so it is not going to be super noticeable, but you will see a difference over time.

It helps, it scrapes off anything on the surface. Mashed strawberries will whiten teeth is you brush with them. I love the whitestrips personally, great results from the first use.

yes it does. buy a tooth paste with it. or try crest whitening strips. and the average brushing time is 3 min.! be sure to massage ur gums too. they r the things holding ur teeth up. and if ur gums get worn out ur teeth will fall out!

BAKING SODA IS A GREAT WHITENER AND YOU CAN MIX IT WITH PEROXIDE THO IT WONT BE PLEASANT AS YOU WILL HAVE THE TASTE OF THE FOAMING PEROXIDE IN YOUR MOUTH FOR SOME TIME.YOU MAY BE BRAVER THAN I LOL.
