He was filming a movie. What about family. I didnt think he would die by such a calm animal, usually calm at least! I think he has a 6 and 3 year old! Your thoughts?

he has an 8 yr old and 3 yr old. This was on the news this morning.

He died too young. The world will certainly miss him and what he had been doing for and witht he animals. He died doing what he loved though. All in Gods plan perhaps for him to die this way--

I found out when I first woke up this morning. Been crying off and on all day since. The world has lost a wonderful man & my heart goes out to his family and friends. May they continue the wonderful work of education and conservation in Steve's honor.

It's a tradgedy, he died far too young, and still had more to teach this world.

May God bless Steve, his Family, nation and fans across the World.

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

actually, he has an 8 and an almost-3-year old. i find it funny how Mr. Iwin, hanging around the world's most dangerous animals, managed to avoid his inevitable fate-the one he met today-for so long that the world was so suprised. I think it's kind of sad how his passion was his downfall.

I seen it last night and its so sad what happened to him especially since he has a family. We are going to miss him seeing that he risked his life everyday with crocodiles and something like this would happen.

Yes, but he got close to a sting ray. If you know anything about them, they are poisonous. Steve Irwin picked the wrong animal to mess with, as he consistently liked to flirt with danger....

I feel sorry for the kids who won't be growing up with their father, but this should teach them not to flirt with danger like their father did....
