It was a regular day and then i shutdown my computer then when i turned it back on it didnt have a start menu or icons and i have to load things up with windows task manager its anoying.

Try to scan your computer for viruses, after updating your antivirus, and if the problem continues then you need to reinstall a fresh version of the OS you're working with, but i advise you to format your harddrivers first in case of a virus infection...

Right click on desktop,
Arrange icons by
Show desktop Icons.
Check all 4 sides to make sure your start bar is not hiding.

try unplugging all or any things u have connected in the USB, sometimes and external hard drive can cause that 2..
