My wife loves animals of all kinds and very seriiously considered vet school. She volunteered at a vet's office for 2 weeks and came home crying almost every day. Vets see a lot of abuse and a lot of sick animals and not every one can be helped. Your extreme love of animals may be the very reason why you may not be suited for the job. Call you local vet and ask if yo ucan volunteer a little to see how you would like it first.

I don't have any life changing stories about animals in my life. Just a life full of pets. My advice for you would be to follow your passion. You might start out by visiting some vet offices, find one that will let you observe for a day or so, exactly what they do. Work part time or volunteer & see if it's really something you want to do. Becoming a vet is like becoming a "people" doctor. It's hard work & school is expensive. There are a lot of other things you can do to help animals should being a vet not work for you. Good Luck in your pursuit.

I am on my way being a vet. I have done much for animals in my life....though i am not done yet! I once found this baby kitten in the cold. Its eyes were not open yet and it had no teeth.I looked around for the momma and didn't see it. It was really cold so I picked him up and went to the store and got the kitten formula for it. I called my vet and he told me what to do. I bottled fed the kitten and had him til he died of old age. I love animals. I really do. I can't stand animal abuse.....I don't like people blaming the breed when its the deed that needs to be blamed. Like the steriotyping on the pitbulls......I think what i love most about animals is that they are there for you when you are down in the dumps.....my ferret and my dogs can get my out of my sadness just like that(snap of fingers).........kind of hard to pin point all the qualiteis and all that i love about animals.......i just do!

OH I love animals too!! I found a little itty bitty kitten this summer in a abandoned garage. It was so little I had to feed it using a dropper and she would hung it like a baby does it's bottle. It was the cutest thing ever. This was this past July, I found a vet that saw her for free and check her out and gave her some worm meds. He is a blessing. He told me I would be lucky if she made it. Well she made it, she lives with me and I just bought her a new kitty bed. Her name is Zoey. She is my little angel from heaven.

If you do become a vet, please take in consideration that there are cruel people out there & charity work is a act from god! Good Luck!

Becoming a vet is lots of hard work nd a long education. You might want to find a job at a vet in your town helping out with the animals and becoming acquainted with the variety of duties that a vet and his/her office staff have to perform. Work hard, study lots, you'll do if you want to!

I'll make it short and simple. It is why I went to vet tech school and have worked in both private practice and laboratory to help provide a better quality of life to all patients to the best of my ability.

When my grandmother came to America all was well until the day my grandfather died. He died he had lung cancer she saw him die helplessly. The doctor said that she may die early due to grief. She was so sad her eyes would cry with out tears. She would eat alone and wake alone. She asked me to stay over. One day for her birthday I got her a terrier. She now treats him like a prince. She has reason to wake up. When he gets sick she takes him to the vet. She walks him everyday (lost 54 pounds). She washes him every 2 days. She loves him.

i love them so much because someone has to stand up to them since they cant speak, even if people say they dotn have feelings, try going for a "job Shadow" with your local veterinarian and there you will find the best stories. i highly recomend you that, besides its free and the vets will be happy to assist you!

Don't worry about what other people' experiences are with animals. If you love animals and want to be a vet, follow your heart.
