I think it is very sad--but predictable. I think anyone who engages in risky behavior as a living, risks dying every day. Think about daredevils and race car drivers--same with crocodile wranglers. I was just surprised it wasn't a croc!

Steve Irwin was something of a genius in how good he made everyone feel- it was his boyish enthusiasm, his apparent lack of pretentiousness, his wide eyes and cheeky smile. He was the kind of adventurer many people, even those who aren't particularly adventurous, want to be. He was like a down to earth Indiana Jones. His love of animal life was natural to him from a young age- he seemed to treat them like good mates- you could imagine him sharing a beer down the pub with a few- rather than the way some people who say they like animals do so with a bit of unconscious condescension. A legend, a star, a decent family man and a very talented guy.

i very sad and in distress. i feel like ive lost a best friend. i just want to say to the people who are saying he deserved and it was bound to happen, to get a life because this man has made more of a mark on this world in 44 years than you will in your entire life. this was not bound to happen. steve was very precise and every move he made was for a reason. he knew what he was doing and he knew it very well. he didnt deserve this. i just want it to be know that steve was a wonderful person. and i believe that his marks will left on this world forever. he wills always be in my heart and the hearts of many others for a very long time. my prayers and condolences go out to terri, bindi, little bob, big bob, and the zoo staff. god bless you all. RIP Steve Irwin, you will never be forgotten. you have inspired me steve.

i understand he would be regrettably overlooked. He grew to become into so variety to animals He basically had a love for mom nature and all its creatures. i grew to become into basically taken aback to take heed to how he died. Animal Planet isn't the comparable without him. could the good Lord be with him continuously. i understand the Lord will watch over his spouse and childrens. i've got self assurance so unhappy for what they're dealing with. God Be with Them additionally.

Yeah what a thing to see when the TV was first turned on this morning! He will be missed, but at the very least he died quick, relatively painlessly, and doing what he loved - filming animals so as to present them to the public - and further conservation efforts.

Well, I think that he went out like he would have wanted to, exploring the animal kingdom, and trying to enlighten the rest of us.
He will be missed, even by those of us who thought him to be a brick or two short of a full load, at times, but, that doesn't mean we didn't enjoy his show, and his entertaining way of educating us.
Rest In Peace, Steve, we'll miss ya.

He might have been over the top but he was genuine. Its always harder to come to terms with when someone dies in an accidental way but I'm sure he wouldn't want us to mourn him too much.....he would rather we enjoyed life like he did and continue to respect the natural world.
