red blood cell is a component of the circulatory "system". blood cells are not part of any organs persay. By definition, organs are made of various tissues. Tissues are a bunch of like cells bind together in a solid matrix. So in this case, red blood cells are not part of an organ, its just responsible for carrying oxygen to all parts of the body.

Red blood cells provide oxygen to all cells in the body, but the most metabolically expensive, and therefore the ones with the highest blood volume per weight are the brain, the liver and the kidneys. On the other end of the scale would be ligaments and tendons whose oxygen demands are lowest.
The heart, while ultimately essential to the ongoing survival, is relatively small, being about the size of your fist. For its size, it requires much oxygenated blood, but the volume due to its size is less.

They are both specialized cells however a red blood cell's task is to deliver oxygen and a small amount of carbon dioxide. It contains a red pigment, hemoglobin, which has high affinity to oxygen hence allowing its delivery(by forming oxyhemoglobin) . Furthermore, a red blood cell has a biconcave shape and has a red color (due to the presence of hemoglobin), it contains no nucleus leaving more space to contain hemoglobin. Finally, red blood cells are made in the red bone marrow of short bones such as the ribs. A nerve cell's task is to deliver nerve impulses from the body to the brain/spinal cord and vice versa. It has three main types. It does contain a nucleus too. It's job is performed by the neurotransmitters present in the synapses. There are many differences, but these are the first that came to my mind.

Actually, pretty much the whole body because, remember, oxygenated blood, (red,) goes to the cells and then returns to the heart and lungs needing to be reoxygenated, (blue,) where it turns red again..
