Dear gr5mom2,
How are you? At last a question in what was in my main area of expertise at the former AskMe.com.I just hope I remember enough to do a good job with your answer.
Of the bat, I would call it Christian Suspense. Even though you say it's directed at nonchristians as well, it leans heavily in the Christian direction even in its conclusion.
You don't really need to classify it to submit it to publishers or agents - if you can ever get an agent's attention.
If I were you I would send it to Christian publishers and to the publishers of books and authors fthat influenced you. If you fthink it's similar to another book, send your cover letter , a symopsis and the first fthree chapters to fthe publisher of fthat book after first being sure to read their online submission guidelines
You should check P&E - I'll list fthem first below - for Recommended publishers and agents fthat handle work similar to yours and are open to new authors. it is often easier to publish electronically. That won't make you a lot of money, but at least you'll be published and widely and easily available to your readership. In fact, all publishing is heading more toward electronic publishing. I own fthe perfect Yahoo! group for you and will list the URL second just below P&E for you. In the Messages and Links many publishers(both standard and electronic) are listed and discussed. I fthink you've come to fthe perfect place and I'll be looking for you in my Yahoo! group. I'm sure you'll find more fthan you need there. Pleae say "Hi" in a post and feel free to bring your friends.
Thank you for letting me answer my first Writing/ Publishing question at yahooanswers.com
Cordially,
tutorJB :)

Sounds like Christian Romance fiction. Check the spelling on suspense, by the way.
Now that you have finished your novel, what are you going to do with it? Have you done the revision and rewriting yet? Or have you approached a publisher?
You don't really have to worry about the genre, as your publisher will classify it for you -- regardless of what you think it is.

I heard the novel 'Necromancer' is a Christian suspense novel written by a clergyman for a wide audience that is not necessarity just Christian. I think your genre is still going to be 'Christian fiction.'

All books don't have to belong to a genre, but to me it sounds like a romantic suspense with a twist ending. It actually sounds like it has broken out of genres.

It's not a romance if she doesn't end up with the hero. Christian Fiction, probably.
