Just wondered if anyone knew what a little bump on my scalp could be? It does not hurt but I am sure it has got a little bigger over the years (had it a few). Its under my hair and I heard it could be a hair growing inwards under my scalp. I dont like it could I get it removed? Would it be safe? Could it be anything else? Am sure its nothing cos no pain and not got huge quickly.

Yes I did have head injury as a child but its not that lol. Its more raised than a mole like a little hill and feels very solid.

could be a sebaceous cyst, which is pretty harmless but can cause the hair at the site to fall out.
i had one on the top of my head for years but when the hair started to fall out on and near it, i had it removed by a dermatologist under local anesthetic. wasn't painful to have it done really, just tender afterward for a few days.
good luck.

It could be a cyst, one of my friends had this, it felt like something about the size and shape of a baked bean under his scalp, but it was quite hard. He went to his GP and the GP removed it (but not at the first appointment). My friend didn't feel anything because he had a local anaesthetic when it was done. He had 1 stitch in his head, which was taken out about a week or so later. He probably has a tiny scar, but you can't see anything because it's hidden in his hair.
The GP thought it was worth removing because he wanted to check it really was a cyst (and therefore nothing to worry about), it was growing and might have become obvious, and because it began to get sore when my friend brushed or combed his hair.
It's probably worth you getting it checked out, but try not to worry about it.

Probably just a cyst, my mum had 2 or 3 and she had to have them cut out at the doctors surgery under local anaesthetic as she kept catching them when she combed or brushed her hair. You need to make sure the doctor takes the entire 'sack' from within the cyst if you have it removed or else it will come back ie fill up again, this happened to one of the cysts my mum had. I have just a small cyst on my scalp but it doesn't bother me or hurt at all.

It sounds like a cyst. I had one and very similar to the answer above mine it was removed by a dermatologist and nurse under local anaesthetic.
I could not help myself I thought it was a great big spot and kept on trying to pick it with a pin - not recommended!
Have your doctor check it out for you and they should remove it for you.

It might well be a sebaceous cyst, not dangerous they can sit around for ages then start growing
If it is they can remove it under local anaesthetic (at the Drs surgery in the UK) its not griefy, just go see your Dr
good luck

Like me, you could have a small stone in the top of your head.
Not sure how long mine was in there, just found it one day and dug it out. Still the scarred bump remains though.
Obviously it was a small stone :)
