Can they not fix the outsourcing problem? Is that not just giving up?

I can't tell you why not... there is no excuse.

I'm one of these ppl that when I see something not working then I say fix it. That is just pure common sense.

Nafta, Gafta, and Cafta have all resulted in outsourcing and we are losing jobs by the 1000s. Unemployment numbers don't show this because after 6 months you go off the registered list.

Since it is obvious they have failed and are hurting our country... they need to be either reversed or adjusted.

Because they are. The solution is to give up asap, and move on. The faster this process happens, the more quickly replacement jobs can be created by the entrepreneurs who drive our economy. Virtually all the jobs of the 20th century were created then. In hindsight which industries seem more important? Horse and carriage, trains and coffins or Automotive, aerospace and pharmaceutical?
The jobs of the 21st century will be created by 21st century entrepreneurs and inventors. The best thing we can do is get out of their way, so they will choose to set up shop in the US rather than somewhere business is taken more seriously.

ONE MORE THING: US investors in foreign ventures should not expect the US military to bail them out of the heat when some wacko government nationalizes their plant, etc.
Also, just because something is labelled "free trade" doesn't mean that what its about. This North American Union idea is a crooked way to sell out US sovereignty

As for AndyG your a retard because if you look at them they are way up from what they were 10 years ago. Outsourcing isnt going to stop until somone can figure out how to make the idiots doing it to stop being so greedy and understand that making more money isnt the goal for life. Also when alot of american workers can learn to understand that the companys need to pay a competative wage and they wont make as much money as they want. But that is wishful thinking.

Yeah listen to the Stooge.

No facts, just emotional opinion, typical "conservative" stooge.

As for jobs, while the 5 percent unemployment rate looks good in the abstract, the number is low because so many have abandoned their search for work. As a recent report from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities showed, “employment has grown at an average annual rate of only 0.5 percent since November 2001, as compared with an average for previous comparable post-World War II periods of 2.6 percent” during economic recoveries.

When it comes to the class war, the Democrats and Republicans are on the same side. And it’s not the side of the millions of people who are fed up with a discredited political system, steeped in sleaze and utterly dominated by big business.

The politicians do not want to fix the outsourcing problems. You see, they are in the pockets of corporations. Through lobbyists corporate agendas become public policy. After all, who can supply more money to politicians seeking election or re-election, a corporation, or a few members of the working class?

Conservatives admit they want to destroy unions. That would be another strike against the working class. Also Bush wants to outsource our jobs over to Mexico. Mexicans will be handling all our imports and exports, on top of that they will be the ones who will be delivering most of our goods across America. This will destroy workers from the Teamsters to the Longshoreman's.

This is why Bush isn't interested in securing our borders, because he intends on handing over our businesses to Mexico. It's called the North American Union and Bush sold us out. Our borders will be open in a couple years. The goal is to have so many Mexican immigrants working for low wages that Bush and big business can make trillions.

The goal is to destroy the middle class or working class. But don't take my word for it, read this article which proves it in a REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVE magazine.

Bush sold us out folks, the North American Union will replace America. THANKS BUSH.

There is extremely big money in what used to be called trading companies. The political battle between workers and trading companies has been going on since before country was formed. We need re balancing, but both Republicans and Democrats gave us NAFTA. Many want to see unemployment high because it holds down labor costs.

Outsourcing was a government idea to begin with, why would it say it was going to fix it?
