I agree with a previous answer- we will have to wait for the hearing to be over. But for people to say that Hair is a cheat just shows extreme naitivity. What good would come from him cheating. He saw something amis and looked at the ball and made a judment based on that. The truth, as much as it may hurt, is that he did the right thing given the circumstances. You definiatelly cannot call him a cheat! He may have made a mistake, but we all make mistakes and that does not make us cheats.
Then people say how he wants money. You forget that that was a rpivate email he sent which has been made public for some unknowm reason. I think what he was meaning by saying that is that he is not going to be pushed around and if the ICC want him to leave they will have to buy him out. People forget that the umpires are contrated out and this was his offer for a buy out.

Now because I don't feel Hair is a cheap doea it mean that I recon Inzi is a cheat. The hearing will determine if the ball was tampered with or not and we will have to wait to see what the findings are. But Inzi is the captain so unfortunatelly he will be held accountable because of his position of authority for any actions taken on the field. I suppose Pakistans previous record with ball tampering does not help.

But lets not all jump to conclusions. The ICC hearing will see all the evidence and make a decision we will all have to respect.

Thats a very simplisitic question.

The thing is, if any umpire is terrified of accusing any Asian team of cheating for fear he'll be called a racist then the umpire can't do his job properly. People DO cheat in cricket. Mike Atherton was caught in 1994. You can't overlook the fact that you suspect someone is cheating because they are Asian and you're scared you'll be called a racist. Everyone keeps jumping on this and calling Hair a racist but I think thats unfair. He was doing his job.

As for Inzy well I'm on the fence. He might have cheated he might not, I guess we'll never know, the main thing is that Hair did his job by voicing a suspicion. Thats what he's paid to do after all. To keep an eye on the game and speak up if he feels any dirty dealings have been going on.

I'm not sure whether there was any ball tampering, and perhaps the protest, was not the right way to go about it, although, they are quite right to be angry at being called cheats.

I think though Hair was in the wrong though. If they tampering, which I'm not too sure really, he should have said about it at the tea interval, not straight away, and als to make allegations like that, you have to be 100% certain that there has been tampering, and I don't think was.

And then with the protest, th umpire should have done his upmost best to try and get the game to continue, but he didn't really give the game and the Pakistan team a chance, especially as the Pakistan team came out soon afterwards.

Well lets put it this way I've never seen Darrell Hair twist his studs on both ends of the wicket on a good length, nor have i ever seen him excessively appeal for leg befores knowing its not out! And Darrell has never been caught on T.V "CLEANING" the ball with his thumb nail....so who really is the cheat?

Disciplinary hearing of Inzamam-ul-Haq over the charge of ball tampering and bringing the game todisrepute has been fixed up by ICC on 27th and 28th September at London under the supervision of adjudicator RanjMadugalle, I strongly feel that it is totally unfair to put the blame on anybody till the hearing is over and decision of displinary panel is known
