I figured that he would be killed by something at somepoint. I never expected it to be a stingray though.

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Sooner or later, but maybe by a croc not a sting ray. I always though he would die doing his job he loved but not this soon.
RIP Steve.

No, but he took lots of risks to "make the show". I know he was just some guy on tv, but he will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers to Terry and the children.

No, I always thought he would have the best doctors on hand to save him if he was ever bitten. He sounds like a really good guy, was very sad to here the news.

He had a dangerous profession but did lots of good work for animals and will be remembered and missed.

took me by surprize and I would have thought it would have been from a croc. I'm still in shock. I loved him I learned a lot from watching his show and he was so entertaining

NOT AT ALL!!!! I thought he was going to live until he had great grandchildern he is a hero to the earth around us now

I though he was more careful than that but he did seem to take lots of unnecessary risks too.
