i just reformatted my computer yesterday, any idea wat might be wrong with it?

It could also be because you might be running a software that is eating the CPU, and then the processor get too hot, the computer shuts down or re-starts automatically.

This is an ongoing problem with laptop specially if heavy applications are running either in background or foreground.

If you are running windows XP, try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and you can see the process information currently running in the memory,
Check the CPU usage %. If you see any program that is using a lot of cpu try to end task it.

I know you just reformatted, but you still need to rule out viruses/spyware by running an antivirus and antispyware program. I your computer is virus and malware free, it could be that the computer is overheating. Make sure that the fans are working, and that the computer is properly ventilated (make sure that the vents on the case aren't blocked in any way).

Does it need cleaning inside the tower? If the fan is clogged it may be getting too hot after and hour and a half, and restarting is its attempt to cool down. Worth a check, at any rate.

running out of ram get a program called freeram. it is free downloadable it will auto freeram but it will lag you if you are in the middle of a computer game for a good 20 seconds but at least you wont restart.
