A whore is someone who has sex for money. It means the same thing as prostitute. I don't do that and I never would. Now, I don't deny being a slút, which I see nothing wrong with. But why do mean people call me a whore?

because they are mean people. dont listen to them. there is nothing wrong with being a s,l,u,t, sometimes people get confused between the two and then it makes them sound retarted. So just ignore the retards and go on being your self.

Prostitute has something in common with slút which is the short term affair, the frequency of the affair and the different people involved and finally in its unaccebtability socially. Note the definintion:

That's so sad that you see yourself as a slut and not as a person who happens to love making love (or just having sex, for that matter), but whether it's right or not, society tends to look down on women who have too many partners; and if that woman also tends to be bisexual, well, forget about it; there is such a thing as too much, though; sometimes people just "do it" because they think that this is the only way they can feel emotion; many times people who have had many partners were victims of abuse and can't tell what it takes to have an honest/true loving ,one on one relationship.

As time goes by, the meaning of words change.... whore no longer means sex for money only. It also means that you will give it up for whatever you are after - some type of personal gain...
I find it a bit sick that you are bragging about being a sl*t.... the only thing you will gain out of that is STD, unwanted pregnancies, and a whole lot of hollow relationships.... I feel sorry for you, you should want more for yourself....

These words were invented by men for use only to describe women and keep women where they wanted them. They have no place in the vocabulary of women who should be supporting one another to bring about the total equality they each deserve.
If you can accept being called a slut, why not a prostitute,or whore.The second simply charges men for a service instead of giving it free....men who call women names such as these should be paying heavily for their hypocrisy, seeing that they are carrying out the same behaviour.

its funny, how much of a result people get when they use a name. You probably are called a whore because you don't conform to most people's idea of a woman - one who at least only has one man at a time, and so conforms to their idea of a marriage. But the moment you slip from the safety of someone who is just trying to get married, you are out of their minds.
I'd say ignore it, but that is very difficult. I used to think of myself as one of those women who kept a salon in Paris in the early 1900s. If someone who means a lot to you calls you a whore, then you need to ask them what they mean by it. If it is just someone who needs to hurt you, then you have no obligation to listen to them. Keep your own idea about yourself and who you are seperate from other people's ideas. But always be true to your personal values.

The word whore does not necessarily mean that you are doing it for money, it means that you are doing it for pleasure as well.
I wouldn't worry so much about what people are saying to you. I don't agree with that type of lifestyle, but it's not my business and it's most definately not my place to judge and not everyone feels that way, they just need something to talk about.

Because you are comfortable with the label that you have given yourself. If you are fine with being a slut, then great. There are always going to be people that are going to judge you no matter who you are or what you are doing. I think that there are a lot of jealous people in the world, and the ones who are singling you out are the ones that wish they were doing what you are doing.

They are using "whore" as synonymous with slu t, they don't really mean prostitute. So the next time someone calls you a whore, just smile and flip your skirt. ;)

People tend to use the words whore and slutt interchangeably. But you are correct, you are in fact slutt also known as a dumb whore because at least a whore gets paid.
