all of your windows files will keep on duplicating itself, takin up al your space. your space will get smaller and smaller, i went from 180gb. to 27gb. when i turned off system restore settings. all my space came back. if u have anymore questions, email me at puss_n_boots80@yahoo.com

madinah is right to a point, you should always leave restore ON, you can control how much space is used by right clicking on the My Computer Icon on the desktop, properties, System Restore, and slide the slider back to a comfortable level, System Restore, EVEN when it does a Save Session that it goes through, it only uses about 1 or 2 Megs of Ram to accomplish this, so it's not the space hog that may be affecting you. Right Click on the Task Bar, the one with the Start Button on it, choose Task Manager, Processes, this will show you what is currently loaded into memory, and you should always perform a disk cleanup and defrag, At Least once a week, or shorter depending on the size taken up, I am assuming from your question that the problem is in Memory, not Hard Drive, Unless you Own the World's smallest Hard Drive on the Market Today, Xp is well known to be a memory hog, if you have 200 MB's Of RAM Free, it will allocate Most ( 60-70% ) of that much to programs, and files, it automatically switches from PageFile to RAM and Back again as it's needed. I personally Use and Recommend "FreeRam XP Pro" it is a Free, and Excellent Memory Manager, with ton's of easy configurations to set for the memory, it allows you to unload memory from dll's when they are no longer being used, it allows to start with Windows when it starts, and you can set it to automatically free RAM when it reaches a critical Level, I have tried Dozens of Memory Managers, and FreeRam is the Best for the Bang, and it's better then most Paid Versions too. Good Luck

try defragmenting that MB of yours, sometimes when you delete files, portions of it are not completely removed... so you need to defrag it...
