Stingrays

Actually, if you challenge something in its own environment, you run the risk of getting zapped. Irwin knew the risks he was taking. It's sad, because the guy was a great commentator and put on super shows. But that doesn't change the fact that the sting ray was simply reacting to what it saw as an intruder. You can't blame the sting ray.

Neither Crocdiles he knew what he was doing. Stingrays rarely attack humans. That's why in aquariums allow people to pet them and maybe feed them. The tail of a stingray (barb) is like a bee sting according. this is a rare thing that it goes to the chest instead of the foot.

Steve Irwin's death was horribly unfortunate. Had he lived through the incident, he would have stated exactly what he said every time he got hurt by an animal--that what they did was not their fault. Wild animals react the way they do naturally. They are programmed to protect themselves. I can understand your feeling though. We have lost such a great man.

Crocodiles eats by chomping with their teeth. Stingrays like many ocean life, probably sucks its food in. Both amazing animals though. I have been fortunate enough to see both in the wild. People do take foolish risk. I also swam with sharks (Lemon, Tiger, Black-Tipped, White-Tipped) on 2 occasions, but it was calculated risks (mostly safe...I'm sure of it).
