Is it neccessary to have View Point Player when you allready have WMP? I dont know how it came on my computer, can I delete it?

No they are not. Windows Media Player is build into Windows. View Point is an add-on programs from a different company. It is often packaged with other programs and may have come preinstalled with yuour computer or been added when you downloaded something from the Internet. You do not need the program and may uninstall it.

View Point could play formats that Media Player does not support - so you may need both.

View Point player is used by a very few websites to play their content and is often downloaded without your knowledge.

It is considered by some to be spyware.

Personally I deleted my View Point.

Surely you can un-install it from your computer. Windows Media Player and Viewpoint Player are two separate standalone entities. You don't need one to use the other.

They are not the same thing, but you should only need one of them.
