I'm curious to know..how long does it usually take to bring a load from one end of the country to another and return?

No relevant reason, just curious.......

Since this is the United States' site, I figured I wouldn't have to mention that I meant across the U.S., but since it was brought up, yes I was referring to a haul from one end to the other and back.

Legally max of 11 hours driving with a minimum off time of 10 hours. It has to do with the weight of the load not what it is, unless you are Hazmat loaded. It also is dependent as to which state you are in, as the speed limits are different in most states. Then you have to take in time of day and traffic conditions.
Los Angeles to Chicago can be done legally in { LA - Gallop NM 11 hours, Gallop - Joplin MO 11 hours, Joplin - Chicago 11 hours} So if left LA at 9 am 53 hours later technically you would be in Chicago IL.

My brother is a long haul trucker. Coast to coast. Time taken depends on the load. If multiple drop-offs and pick-ups along the way the time is longer. I have known of him to do it (legally 8hours on 8hours down) in four days. That was a straight through shipment. Then it has taken two weeks or more with the drops and pick-ups. It is a hard job and not glamorous as most people think. Also a lot has to do with what you are hauling.

Depends
It can be done in as little as 6 days (Team drivers and ready to go loads) and as long on the average of 14 days or more (waiting for loads, dispatchers not paying attention, drivers getting lost or highway shutdowns for construction or floods. etc.)

it will take about 5 days out and 5 days back to 10 total and that depends on if you have to wait to get unloaded for the weekend and depend on weather but about 10 total days
