I'm British, I find Americans seem more confident as they really believe in themselves so much that they become self obsessed and take life very seriously, more Americans tend to go to counselling where as the stiff upper lip of us Brits makes us sort out our own problems over a nice cup of tea - we have a queen but I think she is just an ornament, our monarchy is falling apart at the seams, but we will always fly our flag, Americans are portrayed as world leaders in obesity, plastic surgery, weird fads IE dressing up little dogs etc. but don't worry America we are not far behind you - we have bland weather where as America has everything hurricanes, tornadoes, extream heatwaves, monsoons need I go on. I read on one reply about teeth, I'm lucky as my teeth are in good shape, I think if we took away the caps and banned bleaching teeth in America your teeth would be about the same as ours -
to sum it all up Americans are passionate, and the British layed back.

I'm both, actually.
(Mum's British, Dad's American.)
Yes, it counts!!
Main differences though...
Not quite sure what you mean...
There can be so many things.
SamTom89 brings to mind a good one, though.
The British speak better English.
Oh yes and the comedy.
British comedy is actually FUNNY
American comedy is just STUPID.
(A Private Function, Monty Python, etc.)

Sacramento California,.. I'm an American -
**I grew up in Honolulu, and have lived on both the west & east coast.....
Anyway to your question.
From what I've noticed, I've found that Americans are much more Opinionated to an extreme in the way of xenophobia, as well as being excessively rude, obnoxious, cruel, self-centered, hostile, illiterate, ignorant, tasteless (in fashion and common sense), callous, arrogant, and inordinately unsophisticated.... Did I also mention rude too?
As well as being horribly bad drivers, (well we do drive on the wrong side of the road for example - lol).
I'm sure there are similar UK residents who are as bad as us americans, but overall, the majority of the Brits, are a lot nicer, well mannered, more gracious, and historically made of sturner stuff.
America has only been around for a 2.3 centuries, where as the English have been around for more than two millenia, they are one of the few original civilizations that has endured the test of time.
Cheers & mahalo !!!

I don't think there is much of a difference. British people are more proper...I like the correct use of the English language...and the accent's not bad either.
And oh yes, I'm American.

Just replying to something someone said earlier: not all British people have horrid teeth, I for one have very healthy-looking teeth.
I'm British, and a difference between us Brits, and Americans is, we aren't as superficial as they are.
Also, manners go a long way.

their cultures
their histories
their accents
this is a rather broad question becauase all british people are different from each other as are all americans so you cant really say what is different between them because everything is. the only similarity is that some of our history is the same and we speak the same language

Americans tend to be overweight, outspoken (even when it is not necessary) abrupt, pretentious, egotistic and ignorant. With a dodgy and scheming President
British can be just as bad in some areas (mainly england) though in general we are more reserved and not as quick to shout our mouths of and insist we are correct
Both have good points but not many

On my visits to USA the locals have been so friendly, and really seem to like us Brits. Unfortunately the majority of Brits have very uniformed low opinions of the Americans.
I think" the land of the free" is a great place, inhabited by great people.

I'm neither American nor British. But I think American are more bullish because they truly believe in themselves. British are more opinionated, not because they believe in themselves, but because they think other peoples are "not up to their level", a somewhat colonial attitude.
